Integrity:
We believe in being upfront and honest in everything we do. From our pricing to how we run our trips, you’ll always know what to expect – no surprises, just honest, straightforward fishing.
Safety:
While fishing is an adventure, safety always comes first. We know these waters like the back of our hand, and we make sure the boat is in top condition so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
When you fish with us, you’re fishing with someone who truly loves what he does and knows how to get you on the fish. This isn’t just a job – it’s a passion, and we can’t wait to share that with you out on the water.
At C-Legs Sportfishing, we’re committed to preserving the unique marine environment that makes these waters so special. As passionate anglers, we believe in protecting the fish populations that keep these waters abundant. We follow strict catch limits and use catch-and-release methods for species that are vital to the ecosystem, helping to maintain balance for future generations. We also take steps to reduce our impact on the environment, from minimizing waste on the boat to educating guests on responsible fishing practices. We encourage everyone who joins us to help protect these waters, ensuring fishing remains a sustainable activity for years to come.
When you choose C-Legs Sportfishing, you’re supporting a captain who respects the ocean and works hard to protect it. We want to ensure that these waters' rich marine diversity continues to thrive, so future generations of anglers can enjoy the same incredible fishing experiences we offer today.

Captain John Abel is a USCG-licensed captain with over 32 years of charter fishing experience. From the African coast to the Alaskan seas and nearly every body of water in between, John has honed his skills and deepened his knowledge of diverse fishing environments.
Starting as a deckhand at nine on Lakes Erie and Ontario, John learned the ropes targeting walleye, perch, Kings, Steelhead, and Coho. After joining the Coast Guard, he gained invaluable experience in both military and commercial fishing, working in Chesapeake Bay and Virginia Beach. A highlight of his early career was spending five months off the coast of Africa chasing Marlin and Tuna.
In 2013, John began his own charter operation on Kodiak Island, quickly becoming one of the top captains there. After seven seasons of chasing halibut, salmon, and lingcod, he returned to the East Coast and now fishes out of Oregon Inlet, continuing to pursue big-game species with unmatched dedication.
Known for finding fish when others can’t, John’s passion for fishing is his life’s work, and his "Old Man" jokes, “I created a monster”—and anyone who meets him will agree.
Meet Champ, our fun-loving Siberian Husky and the official deckhand around here. I brought him on the boat the day I picked him up, and he’s been a part of the crew ever since.
He’s got one motto: “People love me, whether they like it or not.” Champ’s always got a wagging tail and a friendly greeting for everyone, and he’s quick to make himself at home on the boat.
He may be more interested in snacks and belly rubs than fishing, but don’t let that fool you—he’s a key part of the team, adding plenty of personality and keeping the good vibes going all day long. Whether you’re here to fish or just enjoy the ride, Champ’s sure to put a smile on your face.

The Mornin’ Glory is a 28’ Carolina Classic built right here in Eastern North Carolina. She is known for 2 things, a serious offshore sportfishing vessel with one HELLUVA ride, and a little something to keep mama happy.
Her 16,000lb weight coupled with a 24-degree deadrise means she keeps that sexy bottom in the water, not bouncing off of it. How do we push that, with the most reliable name in the diesel market… CUMMINS. With twin 370hp Cummins diesels she sports a cruising speed of 28kts, making a short ride to even the offshore grounds. 2nd… Mac Privott didn’t forget to add a few comforts when he designed this boat. Heating/AC, fully electric head, fridge and microwave, as well as a little space down below to recuperate after fighting that monster.
Mornin’ Glory is decked out with the latest in electronics, a full SIMRAD suite from 4G Radar down to Chirp sounders for finding those monsters that lurk in the deep. When it comes to gear, she is decked with the latest from Okuma, Penn and Shimano to handle anything from flounder and croaker to the big boys that haunt your dreams offshore and will test your metal.
